About Me

Hi, I’m Kristen and I’m so glad that you are here!  Come on in and let me tell you about myself, introduce you to my family, show you around my home and tell you a little bit about my crazy love for DIY and cooking.  I hope that you’ll get comfy and stay awhile!

I was lucky enough to grow up with a super fun and crafty momma, who taught me pretty much all I know about crafting and an amazing dad who made sure that I knew how to use all of the tools in the garage.  As I aged, there was no chance for me to become anything other than a DIYer.  And I love that!  It gives me such joy to see something in the store or on the pages of a catalog and to mentally deconstruct it to figure out a way to make it myself for a fraction of the cost.  And then, when I complete that project?  Well, it’s pretty much sheer bliss for me.  I will walk around and stare at it for days with a goofy smile on my face knowing that I made it myself and it turned out amazing!  It is an incredible feeling and I am so excited to share it with you!

But wait, DIYing is not my only passion, oh no!  I adore baking and cooking as well.  Putting a hearty meal on the table for my family of five is sometimes an accomplishment in and of itself, but I love to continually challenge myself to come up with new and exciting recipes that will keep the kiddos asking for seconds.  There are always new recipes to try and lots of desserts to eat in this house.  And we all kind of like it that way.

So now it’s time to introduce you to my family…

Clint

This is my best friend and hubby, Clint.  We’ve been happily married for more than a decade, and as sickening as it sounds, it just keeps getting better.  Clint is a Pararescueman in the Air Force, so we don’t see each other as often as we would like, but we always make the most of the time that we do have together.  We met in Montana, we love to go on adventures together and he is always willing to go the extra mile for the kids and myself.  He is, without a doubt, the strongest person I know and he makes me strive to be better just to try to keep up with him.

And here are my adorable, crazy kids.  Grace is our oldest, and she is very much a free spirit.  She loves to read, craft and cook and has the most infectious laugh.  We generally find her with her nose in a book, but every now and then she’ll pop up and win everyone over with her kindness and love for the world.  Barrett, or Bear as he is known around here, is our middle child.  He is all boy through and through.  He may be surrounded by girls in our home, but he has no problem playing Barbies…as long as he gets to blow them up with his tank.  Bear has an outrageously funny sense of humor and is always keeping us in stitches.  And our little one is Emmalynn.  She is the baby and she knows it and is more than willing to use that knowledge to her advantage.  She is the cuddle bug of the family, the happy go lucky glue that holds us all together at times.  It is rare to see anything other than a happy smile on her cute little face.

I am so beyond blessed to be lucky enough to not only be married to my best bud, but to have three kids who fill our hearts and home with such joy and laughter day after day.  Don’t get me wrong, we still have crazy and chaotic days where it’s not all sunshine and butterflies, but for the most part it is great.

I hope that you will join me on this journey.  The journey of life, crafting, DIYing, cooking, baking, parenting and taking our builder boring dream house and turning it into a forever home (all the while knowing that the military will undoubtedly move us yet again).  I have so many fun ideas and projects that I can’t wait to share with you, so please come back often and know that I appreciate you being here.
