Blogger Round Robin and my Twist on the Best Oreo Dirt Cake Ever!

I am super lucky to have some incredibly talented friends.  Friends whose projects and recipes can be seen all over Pinterest and inspire countless people to recreate them.  And I am one of those people.

Long before I knew Melissa at the Happier Homemaker, way before she became my real life BFF, I had pinned her Best Ever Dirt Cake recipe.  It looked so scrumptious that I knew I had to try it.  Fast forward some time and I was sitting in her kitchen while she fed me a ginormous bowl of it.

I was blown away!  It was so rich and delicious.  I happily ate the entire bowl and was ready to recreate it in my own kitchen.

With a twist to make it my own.

Happily for me I got to participate in this awesome blogger round robin with these super ladies!  We are each recreating another’s most popular post and I was able to snag the Dirt Cake before anyone else.

So without further ado, I give you the Peanut Butter Cup Oreo Dirt Cake!

The original recipe comes from Melissa’s aunt and it is so good that I didn’t even really want to tweak it.  I made two tiny changes just to put my own spin on it, but stuck pretty closely to the original recipe.  I used regular vanilla pudding instead of french vanilla and I changed up the Oreo flavor by using Peanut Butter Cup Oreos.  That’s it, you just don’t mess with a good thing!

This dessert is very decadent, so a little tends to go a long way.  This would be great to serve at a dinner party in a large trifle dish.  You’ll undoubtedly get lots of oohs and aahs as you bring it to the table.  I chose to put mine in mason jars for the kiddos and wine glasses for a recent girl’s night.  Everyone raved about it!

Make sure to check out Melissa’s version so you can see how it great it looks in a trifle dish, with a fun surprise!  You will not be disappointed!  And be sure to hop around and take a peek at the rest of the fun with this blogger round robin.  Melissa even recreated my $10 and 10 minute window valance.
